Fukushima University to Join Iwate UGAS as a Constituent University

2025年3月21日

The United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Iwate University (Iwate UGAS) was established in April 1990 as a United Graduate School (doctoral course) comprising Iwate University, Hirosaki University, and Yamagata University.

Starting in April 2025, Fukushima University will become a constituent university of the new Iwate UGAS. This collaboration aims to enhance and strengthen the education and research guidance system. It will focus particularly on food science, a specialty of Fukushima University. By encompassing the entire Tohoku region, which is poised to play an increasingly significant role as Japan’s food production base, we will continue to promote cooperation among all universities. This partnership will cultivate highly specialized professionals who will contribute to the advancement of academic research in agriculture and the overall development of society.
